What is online learning or open distance learning?
It means you learn from a distance and a physical separation between the teacher and you. There are times that associate lecturers meet you for selected tasks such as counseling, giving tutorials or solving your learner-related problems.

The teaching contents are transmitted electronically, over the telephone, teleconferencing, through pod casting, on-line communication and traditional print material.

Flexibility
Online learning appeals to a wider audience because it is more accessible and affordable. The program allows you to continue your education without disrupting your family, social and work obligations. You may complete the course at your own pace and convenience.

No geographical barrier
Geographical location is no longer a barrier. So, if you live in a remote area or are unable to attend classes regularly, you can still realise your dreams. You can study at home, attend tutorials at nearby regional offices, and e-mail, instant message or phone our tutors for assistance.

The Electronic Government initiative was launched to lead the country into the Information Age. It will improve how the government operates internally, as well as how it delivers services to the people of Malaysia. It seeks to improve the convenience, accessibility and quality of interactions with citizens and businesses. At the same time, it will improve information flows and processes within government to improve the speed and quality of policy development, coordination and enforcement.

To accelerate the objectives of Vision 2020, a path has already been defined through seven innovative Flagship Applications. These applications are engineered to start the MSC initiative and create a multimedia heaven for innovative producers and users of multimedia technology. Both local and foreign companies work with various government agencies to enhance the socio-economic development of Malaysia. The Multimedia Super Corridor offers a Malaysian initiative for the Information Age. Electronic Government is fall under the seven flagship applications

The vision of Electronic Government is a vision for government, businesses and citizen working together for the benefit of Malaysia and all of its citizens. The vision focuses on effectively and efficiently delivering services from the government to the people of Malaysia, enabling the government to become more responsive to the needs of its citizens. There are 7 pilot projects of the Electronic Government flagship application.
  1. Project Monitoring System (SPP II)
  2. Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS)
  3. Generic Office Environment (GOE)
  4. Electronic Procurement (EP)
  5. Electronic Services (E-Services)

The implementation of E-Government services will bring convenience to the public, businesses and the government itself. It can be helping to save some manpower contributuion, save time and money as well. For instance, governments should market E-Govenment, to improve citizen’s awareness of the benefits and conveniency and increase take-up rate of usng for the E-Government. Such as, Printng EPF statement online or thru KIOSK machine, reported their income tax thru E-Filling.

The adoption of E-Government has brought a lot more convenient to Malaysia citizens. This is because most of the transactions can be done at a single click, at any time infact people no longer need to queue up to perform certain government transaction such as filing the income tax form. Eventhough, e-government is still unpopular among the citizens but sooner people will realize its importance. Besides that E-Government adoption is affected by website design elements that provide perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, by user characteristics such as sense of perceived risk, feeling of perceived control and prior Internet experience, and also by citizen satisfaction with the quality of its services.
